Title VI | Aeropuerto Luis Muñoz Marin Puerto Rico - Sitio Oficial

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

Title VI Nondiscrimination Policy Statement:

Aerostar Airport Holdings, LLC (“Aerostar”) assures that no person shall be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, or creed. Every effort will be made to ensure nondiscrimination in all of its programs and activities, whether those programs are federally funded or not.

People who believe they may have experienced discrimination in the delivery of the federally-assisted programs or activities must complete the Title VI Complaint Report and send it to
[email protected]

The Title VI addresses the following programs:

1. Limited English Proficiency (Spanish in Puerto Rico)

For the majority of people living in the Unites States, English is their native language or they have acquired proficiency in English, but in Puerto Rico the native language is Spanish. Most people in Puerto Rico read, write, speak and understand Spanish. There are many individuals, however, who do not speak Spanish as their primary language, and the language barrier may prevent them from accessing services and programs.

In order to assist our passengers, Aerostar has a list of bilingual and multilingual employees in the information counters; our public announcements, as well as the webpage, are both in Spanish and English. If Aerostar does not have an employee that speaks certain language that is needed, the Puerto Rico Tourism Department will help us with those cases.

2. Environmental Justices

Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income regarding the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.

Aerostar ensures compliance with Executive Order 12898 by identifying and addressing disproportionately high and adverse human health or environmental effects of its programs, policies and activities on minority and low-income population.
